Your correspondents Doreen Neall and John Johnston both deliver a damning verdict on Tory general election hopeful Dr Richard Evans (Times Letters, April 5).
His shameful role at Westminster in what became the "homes for votes" scandal simply makes him appear weak, indecisive and not prepared to stand up for himself or others.
We don't need a wimp for an MP. In contrast, our current MP Andrew Dismore works hard and is never afraid to speak up for us when it comes to securing extra funds from the Government and on many other issues.
The voters of Hendon will no doubt deliver their verdict on the weak Dr Evans when the general election comes.
