STUDENTS are set to receive the bonus of cheap summer travel thanks to Transport for London (TfL).
The student photocard scheme gives discount on tubes, buses, tramlink and DLR services throughout the academic year.
Investigations by TfL revealed a proportion of students carry on with their studies beyond the summer term and, as a result, TfL is extending the validity of cards.
Therefore, those due to expire on July 31, will be valid until September 30.
The student photocard, introduced in September 1998, is open to full-time students, aged 18 and over , enrolled at education establishments in London, which have registered on the scheme.
