BASINGSTOKE has been put on the map for major employers looking for a good location after the launch of a marketing campaign which shows how the new-look Basing View will shape up.

Muse Developments – Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Basing View regeneration partner – has unveiled a campaign showcasing the key benefits of the business zone, aimed at convincing leading property agents and relocation specialists to recommend it to their clients.

The theme of the campaign is “Business [not as usual]” which aims to sell Basing View as a “business park with a difference” as a green out-of-town business park in the heart of the town with a premium price tag.

A promotional video created to demonstrate the benefits of setting up in Basing View to potential employers shows that, as an urban business quarter in the hub of a thriving and growing community, it can offer a “city” lifestyle without the commute.

Councillor John Izett, Cabinet member for property, finance and commissioning, said: “The launch has put Basingstoke firmly in the market place. With over 50 leading property agents and relocation specialists attending, it brought together leading influencers in making decisions about office locations in the south east.

“Where else can offer land ready for development this close to a mainline station to London and with great facilities on the doorstep? And what we have to offer is set to get even better in the future – for example there is the new combined John Lewis at home and Waitrose store under construction.”

He added: “This launch is a crucial step to build on the success of the partnership with regeneration specialists Muse that has already brought new jobs, high profile companies and a buzz to the area.”

Alistair Martin, senior development surveyor at Muse Developments, added: “We want to offer something a bit different to the business community, with high-quality offices, excellent amenities and transport links in an attractive environment.

“We’ve already reached a major milestone with the John Lewis at home and Waitrose store under construction, and continue to work closely with the council to deliver a top-class regional business location.”

To add to the appeal of the business zone, a business incubator, which will see support given to small businesses across the borough through access to valuable services and resources, will be launched tonight.

The hub, which has been set up by SETsquared and will be based in Basing View, will provide a place where people can meet and network and it will connect local entrepreneurs with experts and academics in the hi-tech field and support services to help businesses start up.
