The M3 has reopened after a multi-vehicle accident resulted in a car bursting into flames.
The M3 northbound was temporarily closed earlier today after the crash between junction 8 for Popham and junction 7 for Dummer at around 12.30pm.
All lanes have now reopened and delays have now eased. At its peak, traffic stretched back to Winchester services with delays of more than 90 minutes.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash with one car, a Ford Focus, catching fire and another crashing into the central reservation.
Crews from Basingstoke and Andover fire stations were called to the scene but the car which caught fire was completely destroyed.
The two occupants of the Ford Focus were out of the vehicle when paramedics arrived at the scene. The pair were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
