Winchester shopworker avoids jail after stealing £10,000 from employer
A SHOPWORKER who betrayed the trust of her employer to steal more than £10,000 has avoided a prison sentence.
Ewelina Waloch, 29, stole £10,053 from the Winchester branch of Gieves and Hawkes, in The Square, between November 17, 2011, and May 12 this year, Basingstoke Magistrates Court heard.
Waloch, of Staines, Middlesex, admitted the charge.
District Judge Philip Gillibrand ordered that Waloch do 300 hours unpaid work over the next 12 months
and pay compensation of £5,000 to the upmarket tailors.
