A NEW nursery at Otterbourne has been officially opened by local MP Steve Brine.

Yellow Dot Nursery has spent five months refurbishing Penarth House, the local landmark at the top of Otterbourne Hill.

Mr Brine, MP for Winchester and Chandler’s Ford, officially opened the nursery last Friday along with his wife, Susie and son William.

The nursery is the eighth Yellow Dot founded by Jane Dyke.

It is 15 years since the first Yellow Dot opened in Millers Dale, Chandler’s Ford and they now look after more than 800 children.

Mr Brine said: “The Yellow Dot name is fast becoming synonymous with high quality childcare in this area and that is solely down to the investment and attention to detail Jane and her team have put into it.

“What I love above all else is that Yellow Dot is one woman’s dream becoming reality and, because she’s been able to realise it, we have new childcare places and valuable new private sector jobs created locally.”
