AN explosion of lolloping canine niceness erupted on a hillside near Winchester.

Eight young golden retrievers were reunited to celebrate their first birthday with their mum and dad at Farley Mount Country Park.

It was the first time the whole family of ten dogs had been together.

The reunion was the idea of Helen Northcott whose five-year-old bitch Meg mated with two-year-old Dax.

Helen, an art student, of Vernham Road, Weeke, said: “There was a lot of rough and tumble amongst the boys. They are one year old so are filled with play. The owners had to pull a few apart.

“The day was amazing. The weather was glorious and the dogs were running around. It was lovely to see how the pups have turned out.”

Helen said she may allow Meg and Dax to have another batch. “We are tempted. We didn’t keep one and slightly regret that. Meg is young enough to have another.”

Another reunion is on the cards for next year.
