Winchester is safest place to park your car in Hampshire.
Winchester has more safe car parks than anywhere else in Hampshire.
There are now 19 car parks in the Winchester district which have achieved the Park Mark Safer Parking award.
The award is given by the police to car parks that have achieved the standards of the safer parking scheme. Owned by the Association of Chief Police Officers and administered by the British Parking Association, the scheme aims to reduce crime and the fear of crime in car parks.
The most recent addition to the list was the car park on Crowder Terrace. The car parks that have been accredited so far are: Chesil Street, Chesil Multi-Storey, Colebrook Street, Cossack Lane, Crowder Terrace, Durngate, East Winchester Park and Ride (Barfield), East Winchester Park and Ride (St Catherines), Gladstone Street, Jewry Street, Middle Brook Street, River Park Leisure Centre, St Peters, South Winchester Park and Ride, The Brooks, Tower Street, Alresford Station, and Basingwell Street and Lower Lane in Bishop's Waltham.
