THE Winnall community is being invited to an Olympics-inspired family fun day this Sunday.

‘Winnallympics’ offers lots of games at the Winnall Primary School sports field and Winnall Community Centre, Garbett Road, from noon-4pm.

The free event has been inspired by the huge success of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics to celebrate local sporting, cultural and creative activities.

Complete with opening and closing ceremonies featuring dance and music with children’s competitive events sandwiched in between there will be taster sessions for activities including table tennis, badminton, a fun creative paint activity and the opportunity to see a disabled racing wheelchair at close quarters.

Also there will be a free bouncy castle, face painting and displays that include martial arts, Zumba and a Bollywood dance session.
