visit Andover.
12.58
If you would like to see the route the torch relay will be taking through Winchester, you can check out the map of the
route in our special Olympic section.
13.59
If you have taken any photos or video, send them in to us and we'll try and include them in the live blog or later photo galleries. To find out how to send them to us, see our Olympics homepage.
13.01
Reporter Melanie Adams is in Kings Worthy, where the crowds have been growing for over two hours. At the moment, they are enjoying blue skies, which is a bit of luck considering how the weather has
been.
Melanie has sent in this photo of the crowds as they wait:
13.06
In Winchester, Joe Curtis reports: "Eager crowds are massing on Worthy Road, waving Union Flags and getting excited at the impending arrival of the torch."
13.07
Time for a vote:
13.11
Large crowds in Winchester High Street and flag vendors are doing a roaring trade, according to reporter Andrew Napier.
13.13
The Kings Worthy leg is due to start any second now.
13.13
In total, 12 people will be torch bearers in Kings Worthy and Winchester, eight of which are from Hampshire.
13.16
Another photo from Melanie Adams reporting in Winchester:
13:20
The torch is running ten minutes late, the crowds in Winchester have just been told, according to reporter Joe Curtis, who is waiting at Worthy Road.
13:21
A short video clip of the crowds waiting for the torch.
13:23
Despite the delay, crowds in central Winchester are up to four deep along the route.
13:30
During the Winchester leg, the relay will stop by Osborne School for an hour before continuing on its way.
13:33
The torch has completed its very short leg through Kings Worthy and is now en route to Winchester itself.
13:34
Winchester Cathedral's bells peeling ahead of the arrival of the torch relay and some punters have even taken to the parapet of the roof of the William Walker pub on Market Street to try and get
the best view.
13:36
The Olympic Torch in Kings Worthy on video:
13:38
Five deep crowd roared in delight as the torch set off down Worthy Road to begin the relay through Winchester city centre.
13:42
It may have passed through Kings Worthy but the occasion has been enjoyed by families and people of all ages:
13:45
Torch enters Hyde Street is greeted by its own song, performed by a local choir. A huge crowd is cheering the torch, with the throngs as many as six people deep along the route.
13:47
With excitement reaching feverish levels, over-enthusiastic teenagers have been ordered off a seven-foot wall in Market Street by a police officer. “It’s too dangerous,” he said.
13:48
Gerry Brown from Atlanta Georgia is the torch bearer running along Hyde Street. He's an employee of Coca-Cola and was chosen for his voluntary work.
13:50
13:51
Torch is now in the city centre, with much whooping and cheering from the thousands assembled. Currently, 16 -year-old Romsey girl Charlotte Towell is running with the torch.
13:58
The torch has been passed on again - this time to 18-year-old Kirstie Nash, who has the privilege of running through her home city.
14:01
This is the Maisie Rafferty, one of the torch bearers in Winchester. The 17-year-old comes from Portsmouth.
14:05
Torch reaches cathedral amid huge applause then moves onto the high street where welcomed by crowds five-deep and a cacophony of noise, music and cheering.
14:09
The roads are swamped by hundreds of people as the final leg through Winchester begins towards Andover Road. The relay is still running around 10 minutes behind schedule.
14:11
Andrew Bennett, 54, is the latest torch bearer. He hails from Winchester.
14:18
Shortly, the torch will stop at Osborne School where it will remain for just under an hour. It will then resume the route through Winchester for a further three minutes before heading in convoy to
Andover.
14:45
15:15
Selina Shawney finishes the torch relay in Winchester, Andover Road. Crowds cheer to end an emotional occasion.
15:20
15:25

Can you confirm when and where the Iron Lady will be shaking her booty? This would be newsworthy.

A Type 45 destroyer to be moored on the Thames.
RAF Typhoons to be based at Northolt.
Various helicopters belonging to the army around London.
A massive 17km fence with night vision cameras and 5,000 volts going through it.
Random stop and search powers if the Protection of Freedoms bill goes through in time.
Armed Troops on the streets.
Massive queues at Heathrow as Olympic dignitories have a fast track customs check in.
Military and Navy Police on patrol in Central London.
Unmanned surveillance drones.
Numberplate reading cameras, facial recognition, retina and fingerprint scanners for "security".
A no fly zone over central London
Closure of the greenway path / cycle track
Closure of the Lea towpath running near the site (even though there's an £80m 8 foot fence)
Closure of various bits of canal and forbidden entry to some locks on the canals, causing huge headache for people living on boats
Olympic ZIL lanes
A ban on protests.
More British Troops being used to protect Olympics than there are stationed in Afghanistan.
And finally the only reason for the Torch procession is to publicise the sponsors.
Anywhere along the the route there is no population they bung it in a van and drive.
Clearly the New Forest ponies will have little interest in hot pant clad bimbos handing out balloons for certain Banks and Soft Drink manufacturers.

The aircraft spotters are loving this, great for their hobby, an ill wind as they say. As for the Type 45 moored on the Thames, where else would it go, Hyde Park? Not so sure about the surface to air missiles though, that is a worry as mistakes can happen and the risk of shooting down a legal target always a possibility, just a sign of our troubled times I guess?

I am only asking because without more information I cannot fathom out what your post was about, can you spell it out with some Loosehaed style diatribes so that I can form a better opinion about your point. P.S. I will probably not respond but don't make an issue about it. Silly post? Well you started it. The fun starts for real on July 27th with the Opening Ceremony of XXXTH Olympic Games, bring it on and lets hope the weather improves. Am I boring you? Good.

The only previous chance I had to see the Torch in the UK was in 1948, however I was approaching my 1st Birthday so cannot remember it, sadly I will never get another chance, so this is the one, I will be at St. Marys on Saturday and if nobody minds I am going to savour every second of the Torch run, my apologies to those that are so thick that they cannot understand what it is all about, perhaps the Iron Lady will dance naked in the street as an alternative entertainment for you?

So next time you hear Cameron telling us how great the Olympics are for business, don't forget to remember out the 20 billion wasted so far, the tax avoidance by corporate sponsors, forcing soldiers to be security guards at the same time as we are laying them off and the corruption of Olympic officials flogging ticket allocations on the black market. And when it's all done, we'll be left in debt and with stadiums that fall into disrepair because cash-strapped councils can't afford to maintain them. Huzzah!

The latest news:
Thanks to a lucrative sponsorship deal with M*******s, all other catering teams are forbidden from serving chips anywhere within the area of London categorized as Olympic Park.
Turns out chips are indeed banned unless sold with a fish LOL.

As for the Type 45 moored on the Thames, where else would it go, Hyde Park? Not so sure about the surface to air missiles though, that is a worry as mistakes can happen and the risk of shooting down a legal target always a possibility, just a sign of our troubled times I guess? If I was in charge of the missiles, I'd be more worried about them getting nicked than anything else.

Normally, I'm positive about outdoor events, but I'm genuinely struggling to find anything positive about the Olympics.
Osprey, I hope you and many others enjoy the event as it's your choice, but me personally, cannot see anything good coming from it.
I can only hope, it passes peacefully, all this heavy guarding with missiles on roofs etc, makes me wonder about a specific threat.
Best wishes to those who'll enjoy it, but let's remember those who don't wish to participate.
