THE people of Alresford asked for something to be done about speeding in the town.
Something has been done - some 300 people, many of them local, have been caught flouting the limits in recent months.
The police brought in sped cameras after many complaints about potentially dangerous driving in and around the town, the Alresford District Partnership heard.
PCSO Steve Hull said the camera van was brought in last autumn in direct response to local concerns .
The cameras are set to return and will be looking at the Bishop's Sutton roads and around Sun Lane.
City councillor Simon Cook said he was concerned about the number of drivers using mobile phones. "It really is dangerous. You see it a lot in Alresford."
