NORTHWICH Victoria head to Nottingham with renewed confidence after winning on the road for the first time since October in midweek.
They have an added incentive to win too after dropping out of the play-offs places following last weekend’s home reverse against title favourites Halifax.
Manager Andy Preece has a dilemma in defence after Matthew Brown impressed on his return to action in Tuesday’s Evo-Stik League Challenge Cup win at Nantwich.
He battles with Michael Byron and Dominic Collins for a place alongside Steve Woods in the heart of Vics’ backline.
Brian Summerskill hopes to shake off a knock to feature, while transfer-listed Kingsley Williams is available again after completing a three-matches ban.
Vics are without a win in their past three Premier Division matches away from the Victoria Stadium – dating back to October 9 – and head to Hucknall on the back of successive away defeats at Frickley Athletic and Marine.
The hosts have lost only once at Watnall Road in the league this term; a 3-0 reverse against Marine in November.
They picked up a first point in 2011 at strugglers Mickleover Sports a week ago, when last season’s leading marksman TJ Nightingale score for the first time since returning to the club following spells at Alfreton Town and Eastwood Town.
Grant Brindley is a doubt for manager Tommy Brookbanks after limping out of the 1-1 draw, leaving Wayne Diuk on stand-by.
