A MOTORIST who died in a crash on the M3 has been identified by police.
Jason Mullin, 45, of Columbia Road, Bournemouth, was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision on the M3 on the morning of Wednesday, September 6.
The accident occurred between junctions 11 for Winchester and 12 for Eastleigh on Wednesday at 5.14am.
A police spokesman said: "It was a single-vehicle collision involving a grey Vauxhall Astra.
"Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing."
Drivers faced tailbacks of around three hours on a number of routes as they tried to divert around the closure.

Police are still appealing for information about the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Hampshire Constabulary on 101, quoting crime reference number 44170345237, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
