ELEVEN Hampshire people have been honoured with a British Empire Medal.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire Nigel Atkinson, on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, presented the award of the British Empire Medal (BEM) Civil Division to the following Hampshire residents:
Alison Freemantle, Bishop’s Waltham, For services to the community in Bishop’s Waltham;
Sandra Showell, Winchester, for services to education at Peter Symonds College;
Caroline Ward, Winchester, for services to the community in Winchester;
Dr Samantha Healy, Winchester, for services to apprenticeships and graduate programmes in the defence industry;
Dr Ruth Padday, Botley, for services to healthcare and young people in Hampshire;
Barry Furness, Fareham, For voluntary service to ex-service personnel;
Graham Wilson, Beaulieu, for services to forestry;
Jennifer Johns, Southsea, for voluntary service in Portsmouth;
Cllr Frank Jonas, Hilsea, for services to the community in Portsmouth;
Geoffrey Lynch, Cowplain, for services to disabled people and the community in Waterlooville and Havant;
Prudence Scurfield, Petersfield, for services to fundraising for Save the Children.
