TWO men raised more than a thousand pounds for two charities in a unique biking challenge at a Hampshire shopping centre.

Friends Simon Finch and David Bartram from Fareham completed more than 214 miles worth of cycling on mounted bikes in aid of Diabetes UK and Autism Hampshire.

They did the challenge at Whiteley Shopping Centre, where they burned 10,000 calories for the cause in more than eleven hours.

Simon Finch said: “It was a crazy day but thanks to friends and family cheering us on, we finally completed the challenge after a gruelling 11 hours! Can’t wait for our next big challenge."

So far they have raised £1080, to sponsor them visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ten-thousand-calorie-challenge
