A WINCHESTER jewellery shop has closed.

Zoe Jewellers located in Winchester High Street close to the bus station shut its doors for the final time.

The reasons behind the closure are unclear as the Hampshire Chronicle was unable to get in touch with the owners.

However that area of the city has seen other outlets come and go in the past few months with Tinc closing recently and opposite Zoe Jewellers Next has also closed, however next to Zoe Jewellers a new food outlet called Coretto will be opening in the coming months.

Catherine Turness, executive director of Winchester BID said the closure was a surprise and that the last time she spoke to the owners of Zoe Jewellers they had doing very well.

Ms Turness said: "Last time I spoke to them they were doing really well I am not sure why they closed.

"It just goes to show it will be nice when the bus station is done it shows that the centre of Winchester regeneration needs to get moving."

She added she has also tried to get in touch with Zoe Jewellers and does not know why the business closed.
