THE hugely popular Paul Stickler returns to present another enthralling murder case in aid of charity.

He will be exploring the infamous Green Bicycle Mystery at Chilbolton Village Hall on Friday August 19, for Age UK Mid Hampshire.

One evening in 1919, Bella Wright, aged 21, set off for a bike ride. Soon afterwards she was found near her home shot dead. A man on a green bicycle soon became the focus of attention and was eventually arrested.

Mr Stickler will lead the audience through the extraordinary trail of events, giving an opportunity to decide whether the man was responsible for Bella's death or, indeed, whether she had been murdered at all.

Mr Stickler is a retired hampshire police commander, with extensive experience of murder investigations, a graduate of the FBI academy in Virginia and a keen criminologist.

He is a Visiting Fellow at Southampton Solent University. His popular presentations are always challenging, absorbing and entertaining.

Age UK Mid Hampshire supports 2,000 older people, their families and carers.

It depends entirely on fundraising and volunteers to deliver its services which include help at home, information and advice and lunch and wellbeing clubs.

Kathleen Murray-Ure, vice chairman, said: "We are delighted that Paul is returning to take us through another murder mystery. What a perfect way to spend a summer evening. We are so grateful for his continued support for our work."

Doors open at 6.40pm for a 7pm start. Tickets are £10 (to include a complimentary soft drink) and are available at www.jumblebee.co.uk/ageukmidhampshire.
