THE first teenagers to ‘graduate’ from Henry Beaufort School are holding a reunion 40 years on.
Wiser and perhaps greyer, the class of 1976 meet on Saturday June 25 for a tour of the secondary school in Harestock followed by lunch in the March Hare pub.
One of the organisers Ann Cochrane said a large contingent of ‘old’ girls and boys are going to attend.
“We were a trailblazing year led by some wonderful young teachers - whose enthusiasm and energy drove us to success.
“We all started out at other secondary schools and when Henry Beaufort was completed we moved to this shiny new school as second years in 1972,” added Ms Cochrane.
Sadly missing will be Bill Hubert, the school's first headteacher who died earlier this year.
Henry Beaufort was Winchester's first comprehensive school.
