COUNCILLORS will decide if they will continue to fund Winchester’s evening bus service. The current two-year contract expires in September and is currently run by Stagecoach.

At the Town Forum on Monday, bids from three different companies will be considered.

If the forum decides to continue running the service for another two years, it is recommended that Stagecoach be awarded the contract with a bid of £13,800. This is because their bid is the lowest and falls within the council’s budget allocation of around £13,800.

A revised timetable will be implemented with the 10.15pm number 3 bus to Winnall and the 9.40pm 5A to Badger Farm scrapped.

The meeting will be held in the Walton Suite at Winchester Guildhall. It will begin at 6.30pm on June 27.
