AN 18th century pub in the Meon Valley has finished converting its stables and coach house into luxury guest rooms.

The White Lion in Soberton, has undergone extensive renovation to swap storage for overnight accommodation.

Original beams and architecture have been preserved in the en-suite double bedrooms, accompanied by a living room and two rooms upstairs.

Last year the pub, owned by Admiral Taverns, was awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and approved by ale quality watchdog Cask Marque.

Allan Marks, who took over in 2012, said: “We are delighted that the White Lion has developed such a strong reputation for fantastic food and the restoration of the old stables and coach house seemed the obvious next step to allow guests to stay overnight with us and enjoy everything this beautiful area of the Meon Valley has to offer.”

“It has been a labour of love renovating this unique building and we look forward offering a very warm welcome to all our guests in 2016.”

The outbuilding is considered a secondary part of the pub’s grade II listing.
