Grants awarded to Winchester charities
WINCHESTER civic chiefs have agreed small grants to several local charities and groups.
The Town Forum has awarded £500 to All-Saints Pre-school in Highcliffe, the Carroll Centre in Stanmore, Read Easy Winchester, St Paul's Pre-school in Fulflood, the Winchester Sport Art and Leisure trust (SALT) and newly-formed Winchester 7th Scouts in St Cross.
Smaller sums were awarded to Friends of the Family(£430), Loco Motive (£460), Street Reach (£433) and £498 to Winchester Hub, a student volunteering project to help alleviate loneliness in the elderly.
Four applications were turned down because they did not meet the criteria: Age UK Winchester, Atticatelier Art Centre, Stanmore Community Association and Winchester Science Foundation.
