A FORMER mental health unit in Winchester is to be converted back into a family home.
St Waleric, in Park Road, was used as a clinic for older people until the launch of a new health centre at Avalon House.
The site, comprising a main block and Coach House in the north west corner, has been sold to an individual who will use it as his home.
Isle Dalen, of estate agent Savills, said: “We received a high level of interest for the site from both developers and private homeowners because of the range of opportunities the property presented - a reflection of the strength of the current Winchester market."
Its services have been transferred to Avalon House, in Chesil Street, which reopened earlier this year. It now offers community nurses, health visitors, mental health teams and children's services.
