A BABY trapped inside a car in Winchester was rescued by firefighters after her mother accidentally locked him in.
A crew was called to Ranelagh Road, St Cross, yesterday afternoon after the woman shut the car with her keys and nine-month-old son still inside.
They had to use specialist equipment to cut a hole in a rear window.
A Winchester firefighter, who had been told by superiors not to give his name, said: "We would normally call the RAC, but when it's a nine-month-old and the parents are stressed, it's classed as an emergency."
The baby was freed at around 2.15pm.
