A WINCHESTER man has been convicted of wasting police time by making needless emergency calls.
Steven Shaw admitted contacting the emergency services without a genuine need on eight occasions between November 2014 and February this year, Basingstoke Magistrates Court heard.
Shaw, 42, unemployed, of Trussell Crescent, Weeke, was in breach of an anti-social behaviour order imposed to stop the calls.
Magistrates fined him £100 and imposed a 12 month community order with an alcohol treatment requirement. They also told him to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
