WINCHESTER singers have helped three nominated charities which cater for Hampshire’s youngsters.

The city’s Fusion Choir raised over £2,000 from their concert which was handed over to Home-Start, Winchester Youth Counselling and PICU – the Southampton Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

They were helped with a donation from Lloyds Bank.

Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Eileen Berry, who attended the concert, opened the doors of her official residence at Abbey House for the cheque presentation ceremony.

There saw representatives from each of the three charities as well as Lloyds Bank.

Choir member and Home-Start volunteer, Maureen Gupta, said: “We have not only raised money for charities but we have had fun doing it and that’s what comes across whenever we perform.

“Home-Start depends on donations and this will go a long way to help families in this area.”
