HANDBALL is coming to Winchester as the city’s leisure centre launches a club to get adults back into sport.
River Park Leisure Centre is encouraging people to take up the ever-growing sport, which is a combination of football and water polo, as part of an Olympic legacy initiative.
Qualified coaches will teach a six-week course for adults over 16, catering to all abilities.
They say handball skills boost strength, agility, endurance and all round fitness.
The club is backed by Sportivate, a Lottery-funded legacy scheme aiming to get adults back into sport.
The first session is on Tuesday, September 9 at 6pm.
