A MUM and her three young children are walking from Winchester to Eastbourne in a bid to raise money for charity.

Josie Dew, Jack, Daisy and Molly set off from Winchester to travel 100 miles along the South Downs Way for the children’s charity Dreams Come True.

The 48-year-old experienced traveller, from Milland, has been sponsored by outdoor retailers, Rohan, who provided specialist equipment to help her push 11-month-old Jack while spurring on four-year-old Daisy and Molly, seven.

The family hope to raise £2,000 by trekking through Hampshire, West and East Sussex to help the charity buy a Nihola Cigar Trike – specially-designed equipment that helps disabled children to cycle.

Ms Dew said: “Cycling has always been a huge part of my life, so I am extremely excited about taking on this fundraising challenge for a charity, as it is not only close to home, but also to my heart. This is a fantastic charity that deserves all the help they can get so I hope I can achieve my goal and give them that.

“Everyone has been extremely supportive, particularly Rohan who have kindly equipped me with everything I could possibly need for the trek. The only thing left to do now is complete the walk – fingers crossed for dry weather!”
