A WINCHESTER woman is taking part in the London Trekathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Vanessa Crookes, of Kings Worthy, will walk her second 26-mile one-day event following the London Moonwalk she took part in back in May.
Ms Crookes sets off on Saturday, September 27, from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, ending up in Greenwich.
“From the Olympic Park the walk goes west through Victoria Park, along Regent’s Canal to London Zoo, before passing Lord’s cricket ground and the famous Abbey Road Studios,” she said. “The walk continues to Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Downing Street and heads over to Big Ben and St. Paul’s Cathedral. From there the walk continues east towards Canary Wharf, eventually going underneath the Thames River walking through the Greenwich foot tunnel and ending in Greenwich by the Cutty Sark.”
