A WINCHESTER shop is appealing for unwanted outdoor clothing to donate to charitable causes.

Rohan, in The Square, will run its Gift Your Gear scheme throughout September, which encourages people to take any unwanted but usable outdoor trousers, jackets and fleeces into the shop.

It includes children’s gear, and the items will then be donated to community organisations, youth groups, and charities for outdoor projects.

The store ran the appeal in March this year, and 9,000 items were donated nationwide.

Store manager Jeff Carter said he is hoping people will be just as generous this time.

He said: “We are again inviting people to nominate themselves or their organisation for the donated outdoor gear. It could be a school class, someone who is planning a fundraising trek, or perhaps a community group in their local area. We will welcome all suggestions from anyone who thinks they can benefit from it.”

To apply for the donated items email sarah.howcroft@gmail.com explaining the reasons why.
