THE party continues as one of Hampshire's most jam-packed festivals rages into its third day.

Now in its sixth year, BoomTown Fair has seen 38,000 revellers arrive Thursday and yesterday to pitch their tents and don their hiking boots for four days of music, theatre, comedy, and art.

With a line up crammed with everything from reggae to ska, punk to dance, the festival at Matterley Estate, near Winchester, will see over 400 artists grace it's many stages.

Last night (FRI) saw multi-Grammy award-winner Shaggy take over The Lion's Den in front of a head-bobbing crowd, and drum & bass DJ Rockwell hit the Arcadia, with his distinctive and experimental sound.

Yesterday also saw The Wailers, Bellowhead, Stanton Warriors and Shanty deliver unforgettable performances, and Katy B joined The Skints on stage for a special rendition of On A Mission

Walking around Uptown every inch of the site is covered in various teepees, caravans and pop up stages, all devoted to one thing - entertaining.

With everything from acrobatics to sumo wrestling, a rodeo bull to 'telephoconica' - phone points that connect to other areas, there is a jaw-dropping surprise around every turn.

The family-friendly festival also has an area devoted purely to children, dubbed Kidztown, full of fun things to see and do, clean comics and musicians and glittering carnival-inspired decoration.

Revellers are encouraged to party the days away in fancy dress, and there is nothing short of madness with outfits including pirates, police, red Indians, fairies and various animals.

The event revolves around one main arena, The Heart of the City, and branches out to nine themed districts, each uniquely decorated with its own theme and musical genre.

Centrally revellers can find OldTown (Pirates, Balkan & Gypsy), TrenchTown (Reggae and Dub), Mayfair Avenue (Electro Swing and Glamour), Wild West (Bluegrass and Cowboys) and Whistlers Green (Folk and World Music).

Venture to The Outskirts to find Barrio Loco (Breaks and Bass), DownTown (Drum & Bass and Jungle) and ChinaTown (Ska and Punk).

Despite a capacity increase of 20 per cent the festival has sold out for the sixth consecutive year, and there's no wonder why - with every theatrical performance a culture-buff could lust after, all under one 'roof'.

Today sees performances from Friend Within, Eats Everything, NoFX and Raggasonic.
