Winchester traffic brought to a standstill following motorway crash

Three people were treated at the scene and another two were taken to Southampton General Hospital

The incident happened between junction 9 and 10, southbound, on the M3

PARAMEDICS have been called to a road traffic collision near Winchester after a car overturned.

Two cars were involved in the incident between junction 9 and 10 on the m3, southbound, at around 12pm, bringing traffic to a standstill.

Two ambulances were sent out to treat three people at the scene for minor injuries when a silver Ford Puma and a Toyota Aygo collided.

Two others were taken to Southampton General Hospital.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: “We were called to an incident at 12.03pm to reports involving two cars on the M3.

“We sent two ambulances and one officer. Three people were assessed at the scene for minor injuries and two were conveyed to Southampton General Hospital.”
