WINCHESTER fire fighters saved two ferrets from burning outbuildings after a bonfire got out of control.
Around 12 fire fighters were called to Weston Colley, near Micheldever, at 9.45pmlast night, who managed to save the pets.
It is thought the fire began after a bonfire became too big, spreading to nearby trees and eventually the two outbuildings.
No people are known to have been injured.
Two pumps, from Winchester and Sutton Scotney, attended the scene with a water cannon.
Crew manager Phil Foxton, of Winchester Fire Station, said: “We urge anyone to keep bonfires attended and to start it away from other flammable items such as trees and sheds.”
