IT was a day of human football, clay pigeon shooting and even a spot of DJ mixing for Winchester’s teens.

Alresford Recreation Ground saw youths gather for a day of Access All Areas – a scheme that has been launched in both Winchester and Fareham aimed at 11- to 17-year-olds.

Youngsters pretended to be the next Beckham with a spot of human table football while others aspired to be more like Andy Murray and try their hand at a game of tennis.

Over 1,000 people signed up for the events in both areas to try something a bit different.

Boys and girls tried a spot of clay pigeon shooting and quad-biking and later took to the decks to spin some tunes.

In a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour, Winchester and Fareham community safety partnerships teamed up to offer teenagers something to do for two weeks during their summer holidays.

Hampshire teens have already taken part in a range of activities at Locks Heath District Centre and Hoe Road Recreation in Bishop’s Waltham this past week
