POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a house was burgled in South Wonston while villagers celebrated their annual fete.
On Saturday (June 14) between 8.50am and 5.30pm an unknown burglar forced a downstairs window gaining entry to a five-bedroom property on Westhill Road North.
An iPad, playstation, x-box, computer games and jewellery were taken before the offender left via the back door.
PC Ferguson said: “We are appealing for any information for this burglary. South Wonston would have been very busy on this Saturday, as the village had a fete and there were lots of people about. Did you see anyone acting suspiciously?
“We believe that the items stolen from the house could have been carried away from the address by the offender in a cricket bag - also stolen during the break-in.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Andrew Ferguson at Winchester police station on 101.
