A WINCHESTER charity that helps disadvantaged young people has received over £2,000 to help kick start a new scheme.
Street Reach, which works with people aged 11-19, was awarded £2,199 from Round Table to help fund a drop-in football project, based at Henry Beaufort’s astro pitch.
Project manager of Street Reach, Ben Martin, said: “Round Table’s generous donation has made a huge difference to the project. The young people really appreciate it.”
Jackie Porter, on behalf of the Trustees, said she was delighted.
“This donation will support the Friday Football Project which attracts a large number of young men who enjoy the ‘turn up and play’ evenings. We are really grateful to Nicolas Michel and Round Table.”
The scheme is looking for volunteers, and for more information email winch.youth@gmail.com or call 01962 828 621.
