A WINCHESTER schoolgirl has won a gold medal at the National Diving Skills Final.
Evie Johnson, 11, was crowned South East Regional Skills diving champion, and travelled to Sheffield with 24 other divers from Southampton Diving Academy to compete in the nationals.
The St Swithun’s Junior School pupil competed in the age 11 category against 41 divers from across the country, performing a total of 12 dives from poolside and one and three metre springboards.
The competition lasted over 90 minutes, and Evie, who also swims for Winchester City Penguins Club, scooped the gold medal.
