THE weather was certainly on their side, as pupils, parents and teachers rallied together to raise funds for a new media studio at their Winchester school.

The summer fete at Kings’ School, in Romsey Road, featured dancers from Blue Apple Theatre and for the first time ever, a Bollywood performer.

The fete, on Saturday May 17, raised £5,000 which will go towards a new media studio, bringing the total so far to £7,000 of the £10,000 needed.

Sara Dean, chairman of the Parent Teacher Association at the school, said it would be a great benefit for the pupils.

“We already have a radio license,” she said.

“So we are raising money to build a new media studio for students, which will look good on their CV and help them get a better job. We are looking to put on several big events throughout the year to raise more money.”

The studio would include a blue screen and recording equipment to help the youngsters produce their own films, but also visual CV’s – which are online based and include photos and video.
