THE University of Winchester has been rated as one of the top universities in the country in two independent national surveys within the space of a week.

On Monday (May 12) The Complete University Guide for 2015 ranked the university 59 out of 123 UK universities and on Thursday (May 15) The Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2014 ranked it 18th of 111 – a rise of 15 places on last year.

Professor Elizabeth Stuart, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Winchester, said: “The University is immensely proud of these results which are a testament to the dedication and skill of our staff who work so hard to give our students an excellent experience.”

The Times survey was carried out between October 2012 and June 2013 and saw 14,300 full-time undergraduates across the country take part.

Classed as a modern university (established after 1992), Winchester is placed 9th nationally and second best in the South East. In addition, Winchester ranks well for student satisfaction - equal 16th nationally and 4th in the South East.
