STUDENTS at Eastleigh College were treated to a “thought provoking” presentation from an internationally acclaimed artist.
Sam Winston, whose work is currently held in collections including MoMA in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, visited the school of visual arts and media students as part of the Visiting Artist programme.
He shared his experiences as an interdisciplinary artist working in graphics, illustration and fine art, showing examples from his portfolio, publications and international exhibitions.
He also gave advice about going to university.
Alex Walch, who is studying for a foundation diploma in art, design and media, said it was inspiring.
“The presentation was thought-provoking, especially the part about if you enjoy what you’re doing, the work will produce itself.
"I’m currently visiting universities so the university advice was particularly relevant. It was interesting that it doesn’t matter where you go, it is how you perform.”
