Social event in Winchester will launch language classes
10:40am Tuesday 8th April 2014 in News
A KINGS Worthy resident is staging a free social evening to launch a language course for adults.
Clarisse Freixenet, a qualified teacher, said she is aiming to put the fun back into French and Spanish lessons.
The event at Hyde Parish Hall on April 23, from 7.30 – 9pm, will be a chance to meet her, try out a mini-lesson and enjoy a glass of wine or coffee.
Brought up in Paris, Ms Ffreixenet has Catalonian roots but has settled in Kings Worthy.
“If you decide to attend a Language for Fun lesson, you’d better be prepared. Within minutes everyone gets involved in this fast-paced conversation class, sharing information, memories and plans.
“It’s a bit like a coffee morning or a cocktail party, where guests are carefully moved around so that everyone gets a chance to speak to everyone else. You spend as much time out of your chair talking to other learners as you do sitting at your desk,” she said.
