A BASINGSTOKE artist is set to showcase his graffiti-come-graphic design works at the University of Winchester next month.

The new exhibition by artist Kev Munday, will be displayed from March 3, at the Link Gallery at the West Downs Centre.

The Way I See Things is a combination of graffiti and graphic design which Mr Munday said was inspired by watching people, looking at unusual objects and his imagination.

Mr Munday, 27, has been exhibiting his artwork for eight years, showcasing in venues including The Southbank Centre, Selfridges and Summers Place Gardens. He has also created art for brands including Walt Disney, Monster Energy, Graham & Brown and Fracture Skateboards.

“I started my artistic career as a graffiti artist,” Mr Munday said. “However, I have always thought of graffiti more as a medium than an art form. Graffiti taught me to paint very fast and at a large scale, and also to see any object as a canvas. I still regularly paint murals with spray paint and am inspired by the energy and colours of graffiti.

“I think the university will be the perfect venue to hold this exhibition because, as well as outside visitors to the gallery, the work will be seen by students from a wide variety of backgrounds. I hope that my work can communicate as much to a serious art collector as someone who may not have been to an art gallery before.”

The exhibition will be on display from until April 6. Opening hours are 9am to 5pm weekdays and most weekends. Please note weekend opening may be restricted, please email or telephone 01962 827578 to confirm. Admission is free and parking is available.
