WINCHESTER theatre goers will be in for a treat when a new play kicks off next month.

Kick Off, written by husband and wife Andrew and Polly Peters and performed by Chesil Youth Theatre, tells the story of the trials and tribulations of the ill-fated Diddlebury Heights High School.

Not only is the school going down in the football league but now it has lost the proof that it owns the very land the school lies on. Will the evil Mrs Prodger get her way and sell off the land for development and who is the mysterious good looking new football team captain who has joined the school?

Richard, the play’s director, said: “Kick Off has provided a great opportunity for both the junior and senior groups to come together and work as a team. It has been a really good experience for all of us involved. With only a little while left before curtain up, we are all very excited and looking forward to the performances.” Performances will be shown on February 14 and 15 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for anyone aged under 16.
