TWYFORD Christmas fair pulled in a record sum this year.

The village hall was packed with stalls selling festive crafts on November 30 plus Santa in his magical forest grotto.

Now the grand total has been announced with a record high of £1,504 raised to be split between Twyford Tots and Twyford Playgroup.

The money will be spent on itoys and equipment.

Imogen Carter, a member of the organising team, said, “We are incredibly grateful to the local businesses that support our events. Our raffle and the stalls on offer this year were truly excellent and contribute a huge amount to the success of our Christmas Fair.”

She added: “The community spirit grows each year and we are pleased to put on a fair which brings everyone together.”

Winchester based freelance-presenter and former South Today reporter, Georgie Palmer, joined the celebrations dressing up for the occasion with Anna Leyland. She said: “It is an absolute pleasure to be involved. I really loved it.”
