A FULL house greeted two world-renowned academics who were in town to mark the Winchester National Osteoporosis Support Group’s 10th anniversary.

Around 160 people turned out to hear Professor Cyrus Cooper and Dr Susan Lanham-New sharing their expertise on osteoporosis and nutrition.

The event was held on March 12 in the Crystal Room of Winchester Hotel and Spa and was supported by the Mayor and Mayoress of Winchester, Frank and Anne Pearson.

The society’s South West regional manager, Maureen Morrison, said: “This is a marvellous opportunity for people to learn more about how they can keep their bones healthy through diet and beneficial lifestyle changes.”

A new committee of volunteers offer information and support to Winchester residents with bi-monthly meetings at the St Peter’s Pastoral Centre on Jewry Street.
