ANTISOCIAL behaviour in Harestock is still a key concern for police.
PC Nick Whitehouse, beat officer for Harestock, Littleton, Weeke and Fulflood, told residents children from Henry Beaufort Secondary School were still gathering outside shops in Priorsdean Road, with littering a particular problem.
Speaking at a Partnership and Communities Together (PACT) meeting at Peter Symonds College on Tuesday (Feb 26), he said: “Littering outside the parade of shops is pretty bad and there is a carpet of debris left around after the kids have gone on a daily basis.
“We have been up there and dealt with a few children and parents and fed that back to the school. I don’t want to demonise teenagers because they will be teenagers and they will be loud occasionally and develop their social skills.
“But we have to be mindful that people do not want to hear bad language or walk through a sea of litter.”
PC Whitehouse said police would continue to patrol the area after school finishes and maintain a dialogue with school staff.
He added there were few current problems in his other areas but warned antisocial behaviour will likely increase in the summer when the weather improves.
