Thieves snatch 20 chickens in allotment raid

POLICE are appealing for information after 20 chickens were stolen from an allotment in Hampshire.
Entry to the site in Curdridge was forced at some point between 3.30pm on Wednesday, January 16, and 3pm on Thursday, January 17.
Two eight-month-old Buff Orpington Hens were snatched, along with one Buff Orpington Cockerel and 12 Columbian Black-tails, including one which was distinctively pale and another with a white tail.
Thieves also made off with five Warren chickens.
PC Jonathan Earnshaw, said: "I am appealing for anyone with any information about this incident to come forward. Did you see or hear anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident? Have you been offered any chickens for sale or do you know anyone who has recently acquired some chickens that match the descriptions? If you have any information please get in touch at the earliest opportunity."
