Hunt for sneak thief who stole darts team’s money
POLICE have released this image of a youth they need to identify in connection with a theft from a Romsey pub.
A total of £1,538 was taken from the Bishops Blaize pub, in Winchester Road after a man came in saying he needed to use the toilet.
He left by a rear garden door, but then entered the kitchen, where he took the money from a safe.
The money had been saved by the pub’s dart team for outings.
Pub landlord and member of the darts team, Wayne Jacobs, said: “It just riles me. “I appreciate that times are tough, but it doesn’t mean you can go nicking other people’s property and money.”
The theft took place on Wednesday, October 10, at 3pm.
The youth police want to identify is in his late teens or early 20s, white, 5ft 5in to 5ft 6in tall and hd short dark hair. He was wearing cargo trousers and a green or brown jacket.
Anyone with information about the identity of the man in the photo is asked to contact PC Dennett at Romsey, on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
