A ROMSEY retirement development will be opening its doors to the community for the latest plans ahead of its scheduled finishing date next year.

On Wednesday (May 23), Audley Stanbridge Earls will allow the neighbourhood to discover the plans for the development, and learn about the building work currently being undertaken.

As previously reported, the site will have a development of 155 apartments, as well as communal facilities, including a restaurant, bar, gym and swimming pool.

The majority of the village will be new-builds, but the design includes some refurbishments of the Grade II listed Manor House and lodge buildings which is at the centre of the design.

The Manor House sits within 32 acres of natural woodland, open meadows and lakes, and its origins date back to 858 AD.

The development complex will welcome its first owners in autumn 2019 and is open to those over the age of 60.

The open event will take place at the Audley Stanbridge Earls Sales Office on Old Salisbury lane between 3pm and 5pm on May 23.
