BUDDING photographers are invited to submit their best snaps for a special competition.

The Viewfinders Camera Club Photographic Competition is looking for the best pictures to be displayed in their annual exhibition.

Run this year as part of the upcoming Romsey Festival, the Romsey Advertiser-backed competition is open to all ages.

Special prizes are also on offer, including one-to-one sessions with a professional photographer and a day with a member of the Romsey Advertiser’s photographic team.

Entry for the event, which is free, starts on March 3; information on submitting photographs will be revealed closer to that date.

As reported, Romsey Festival, one of the county’s most popular events, will return later this year and is set to be the biggest and best yet.

Taking place from July 1 to 16, the triennial event will put on scores of exciting events including exhibitions, concerts, recitals and even gastronomy for its 11th instalment.

More than 30 different venues across Romsey and the surrounding area will host the many events; Romsey Abbey will be particularly busy, including a major exhibition by the Romsey Quilters, regular recitals and concerts, and a series of talks and tours about the famous building itself.
