A POPULAR Hampshire pub has been given the kiss of life – creating 25 new jobs in the process.

The Vine Inn, at Ower, in the Test Valley just off the M27, has received a complete makeover and re-opened its doors to the public earlier this month.

The family eatery created more jobs in the community after expanding the premises to include booth seating and children’s entertainment.

Luke Acton, general manager at the Inn said: “The opening was a real success with great feedback on the menu and colourful interiors.

“My team look forward to welcoming more guests in the coming weeks.”

He added: “The Vine Inn provides a fantastic venue for families to get together and enjoy a meal or a night out, so we are excited to be able to continue to do this.”

The pub has a history dating back to the 16th Century and is rumoured to be one of the oldest inns in the New Forest area.

Marc McGuigan, business unit director for Hungry Horse said: “The refurbishment has improved the look and feel of the Vine Inn and we are pleased to see the reaction of the local community.

“We hope families continue to come to enjoy the new menu and relaxed family atmosphere that we are so well known for.”

Greene King, who own Hungry Horse was founded in 1799 and operates over 3,000 pubs, restaurants and hotels over the UK.
